Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, especially when you are already carrying a lot. If you are here, you may be someone who looks high functioning on the outside but feels worn down on the inside. You hold things together, show up for others, and keep moving forward, even when the pressure feels like it is coming from all directions.
I work with older teens, young adults, and adults, many of whom are professionals, parents, or people in demanding or high burnout careers. Most of the clients I see are thoughtful, capable, and responsible. They tend to overthink, over function for others, and push themselves to keep going long past the point of exhaustion.
Many of the people I work with grew up in homes impacted by addiction, substance use, or emotional unpredictability. Some identify as Adult Children of Alcoholics. Others are currently in relationships with partners or family members who struggle with substance use. These experiences often shape how people relate to responsibility, control, boundaries, and self worth. You may be used to staying alert, managing the emotional temperature of a room, or putting your own needs last because that once felt necessary.
Anxiety does not always show up as panic. More often, it looks like constant mental noise, self criticism, people pleasing, perfectionism, or difficulty slowing down without guilt. You might be successful in your career or family life and still feel disconnected from yourself or unsure how to feel grounded again.
In therapy, we focus on slowing things down and creating space to reflect and gain insight. My approach is supportive and thoughtful, with an emphasis on understanding patterns rather than judging them. Together, we work to reduce the internal pressure, strengthen boundaries, and build a more sustainable relationship with yourself.
You do not have to have everything figured out to start therapy. This is not a place where you need to be fixed or fully healed. It is a place where you can show up honestly, feel supported, and begin to feel more steady over time.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy going to the beach, traveling, reading, and watching movies. I love early morning quiet, intentional prayer, fresh flowers, burning candles, and baking. One of my long standing traditions is watching all of the Harry Potter movies in a single weekend, a challenge I am always willing to take on.
If you are looking for a therapist in the Heights or the 77008 area and want a space to slow down, deepen your insight, and feel less alone in what you are carrying, I would be glad to connect. You can schedule a free 15 minute consultation below to see if we might be a good fit.
