Trauma Healing & Specialized Support in The Woodlands, Tx

Hello, I'm Kat Nazaroff, and I'm a psychotherapist with offices in The Woodlands and The Heights (Houston, TX). I have a deep passion for helping people navigate life’s toughest seasons and reconnect with their sense of self.

I believe there is immense power in our personal stories. Yet, the ones shaped by trauma, anxiety, depression, or shame can leave us feeling stuck or disconnected from who we are. My work is about helping you reclaim the parts of your story that empower you and gently rewrite the ones that no longer serve you. You don’t have to face this alone or be defined by your most difficult experiences.

I work with adults and couples who are navigating transitions, ongoing anxiety or depression, and deep family-of-origin wounds. I also specialize in postpartum mood and anxiety disorders and support individuals facing complex mental health challenges. Earlier in my career, I worked at The Council on Drugs and Alcohol in Houston, where I gained extensive experience in the areas of substance use, misuse, and recovery. That experience continues to inform my work with clients and families who are healing from the impact of addiction. Whether you’re exploring harm reduction, working toward sobriety, or supporting a loved one, I meet you with both compassion and practicality.

While I find diagnoses helpful for understanding what’s happening, I always take a holistic approach, seeing you as a whole person rather than just a collection of symptoms or labels.

Deepening the Work: EMDR Intensives, KAP, and Resilience

Healing and lasting change are absolutely possible. To help clients move through deep or persistent blocks, I use several evidence-based, accelerated methods.

  • EMDR Intensives (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): For clients seeking relief from the effects of trauma, EMDR intensives provide an opportunity to process difficult experiences and move forward with greater ease.

  • Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP): For clients seeking relief from the effects of trauma, EMDR intensives provide an opportunity to process difficult experiences and move forward with greater ease.

  • The Daring Way™: As a Certified Daring Way Facilitator™ based on Brené Brown’s research, I integrate work around vulnerability, self-compassion, and resilience to help clients live with greater authenticity and courage.

Dedicated Support for Caregivers

A special part of my work focuses on couples and caregivers facing complex, layered challenges. This might include navigating life with a high-needs child, managing the strain that alcohol or substance use brings into a relationship, or finding ways to stay connected when stress feels constant. I use a relational and harm-reduction–informed approach to help partners communicate more effectively, set healthy boundaries, and support one another while maintaining their own sense of well-being.

I also work with parents and caregivers of children with special needs who often carry an invisible load. Whether you’re adjusting to a new diagnosis or simply feeling the exhaustion of daily demands, therapy can be a space to breathe, feel understood, and find your footing again.

Therapy is a collaborative process. Together, we can explore what’s holding you back, clarify what matters most, and help you create a life that feels more grounded and fulfilling.
