Therapy for Teens, Adults & Professionals: Find Purpose & Intentionality in Houston
On the outside, you may look like you have things figured out—a successful career, solid relationships—but inside, you feel stuck, exhausted, or unsure of what's next. You might be carrying immense pressure from society, your family, or your professional life, leaving you feeling emotionally numb or constantly hyper-vigilant.
I'm here to help you break free from those patterns. I specialize in working with adults, professionals, and older teenswho are dealing with treatment-resistant anxiety, depression, and complex trauma. My work is for the high-achieving, dutiful person who feels constrained by their own or others' expectations, leading to a sense of social isolation or chronic exhaustion.
My early career at The Menninger Clinic gave me extensive experience working with individuals facing complex dynamics, including substance use/misuse and severe emotional dysregulation. This background ensures I bring a blend of curiosity, wisdom, and practical insight to every session.
My Approach: Practical Tools for Profound Change
I combine proven, evidence-based approaches with a compassionate, relational style. We'll work together not only to manage your immediate stress but also to address the deeper patterns that keep you spinning your wheels. The goal is to move forward in your life with purpose, intention, and authenticity.
Specialized Training:
Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT): This is a key focus for clients with an "overcontrolled" coping style—those who are often highly self-critical, emotionally reserved, and struggle with social connection. It's highly effective for treatment-resistant depression and anxiety.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): A powerful tool for building immediate skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): We use ACT to help you clarify your core values and commit to taking action, even in the presence of difficult thoughts and feelings.
Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT): I use these principles to help older teens and young adults (and their families) navigate intense emotions and improve crucial family dynamics.
From Feeling Stuck to Finding Freedom
Whether you're questioning your choices, feeling overwhelmed by your relationships, or trying to reconnect with your sense of purpose, I create a safe space to sort through the noise and get to the heart of what really matters to you.
Therapy can be hard work, but it can also be a place where you feel lighter, more connected, and genuinely understood. If you’re ready to stop feeling stuck beneath pressure and start creating the life you truly want, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
“The first step toward change is often the hardest — and the most important.”
