Moms Support Group

Rediscover You at The Flourishing Way

Led by Kate Tamminga

Motherhood changes you. Between caring for everyone else, managing the day-to-day, and moving through each new stage, it’s easy to lose sight of yourself. Many moms find themselves feeling stretched thin, disconnected, or unsure of who they are beyond the role they carry every day. If that feels familiar, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out on your own.

This therapist-led moms support group in Houston (77008) offers a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself alongside other women who understand. Together, we explore the shifts that come with motherhood, make sense of what you’ve been carrying, and create room for you to feel more grounded, clear, and supported in this season of life.

Why Group?

Connection is key.

Group support offers something that’s hard to recreate on your own. Being in a room with other women who are navigating similar stages of motherhood can bring a sense of relief that doesn’t come from advice or problem-solving, but from feeling understood. Research continues to show that women tend to regulate stress, process emotion, and build resilience through close, supportive relationships. When those relationships are missing or feel surface-level, it can leave many moms feeling more alone than they expected.

Motherhood also marks a developmental shift known as matrescence, a period of ongoing change in identity, relationships, and emotional life. Just like adolescence, it can feel disorienting at times. Roles evolve, priorities shift, and the way you see yourself may not quite match who you used to be. At the same time, many women notice their social circles changing. Friendships may look different, time becomes limited, and opportunities for deeper connection can feel harder to access.

Group creates space for that connection to rebuild. It offers a place where conversations can move beyond the surface, where shared experiences help normalize what you’re going through, and where you can stay connected to yourself while also connecting with others. Over time, that kind of support can make a meaningful difference in how you move through motherhood.

Meet your group leader, Kate Tamminga

LPC Associate | Supervised by Jill tucker LPC-S

Kate Tamminga creates a space where moms can exhale. Her work is grounded, thoughtful, and deeply attuned to the emotional weight that often goes unseen in motherhood. She understands how easy it is to lose yourself in the roles you carry, and she helps women slow down enough to reconnect with who they are beneath the constant demands.

Kate works with women who are used to holding it all together, even when they feel overwhelmed, stretched thin, or unsure of themselves underneath it all. She brings a calm, steady presence to the room while also helping clients notice patterns, name what’s really going on, and move toward meaningful change. Her approach blends insight with practical tools, so clients leave not only feeling understood, but also more equipped to navigate their day-to-day lives.

In group, Kate fosters honest conversation, real connection, and a sense of relief that comes from being with other women who truly get it. She is especially attuned to the identity shifts that come with motherhood and the quieter questions many women carry about who they are and what they need in this season. Her goal is to help women feel more like themselves again while building a life that feels more grounded, connected, and sustainable.
