About Our Practice
The Flourishing Way is looking for a couples therapist who wants the autonomy and earning potential of private practice without having to build every part of the business from scratch. This could include work around communication and conflict, intimacy, infidelity and betrayal, life transitions, premarital concerns, discernment, or other areas you want to develop into your specialty.
Over the past 20+ years, we’ve built strong relationships with therapists, physicians, schools, treatment providers, and other referral partners throughout Greater Houston. We’ve learned that our model works especially well for clinicians who want to build a practice around work they genuinely enjoy while having an established brand, business infrastructure, and referral network behind them.
Our clinicians operate as independent contractors and have the freedom to develop their own schedules, caseloads, and clinical niches. We provide the office space, marketing, intake coordination, administrative systems, and business support that can take years to establish on your own.
You get to practice independently without practicing alone, and focus on becoming known for the work you want to do.
This Is a Private Practice Model
This is an independent contractor opportunity, not an employment position. There is no salary, PTO, sick time, or guaranteed caseload.
Instead, our model is designed to function much like your own private practice within The Flourishing Way. You have autonomy over your schedule and caseload, while benefiting from the infrastructure and visibility of an established practice.
We want clinicians to understand that distinction from the beginning. If you are looking for the predictability and structure of traditional employment, this may not be the right fit.
If you’ve thought about private practice but don’t want to start from zero, this may be exactly what you’re looking for.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a therapist who genuinely enjoys working with couples and wants to continue developing a specialty in relationship work.
You do not need to be a seasoned couples therapist. We’re more interested in finding someone who is committed to becoming excellent at this work and has pursued, or is actively pursuing, additional couples specific training.
Training or areas of study might include, but aren’t limited to:
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Relational Life Therapy (RLT)
Imago Relationship Therapy
Gottman Method
Sex Therapy Certification
Discernment
Couples Counseling
Other advanced training focused on couples, relationships, intimacy, or sexuality
We especially value clinicians who are curious, motivated, invested in their own professional development, and interested in creating a recognizable niche within private practice.

We also believe clinicians learn from one another. While everyone operates independently, there are opportunities to collaborate, share referrals, develop new services, and learn from clinicians who have been in private practice for many years.
COMPENSATION & GROWTH
Clinicians are paid per session as independent contractors.
Our compensation model is designed so that your earning potential grows alongside your caseload and production. There are clear opportunities to increase your percentage and earning potential as your practice grows.
We provide the platform, infrastructure, marketing, and referral relationships, but building a successful caseload still requires initiative. We’re looking for someone who wants to take ownership of their practice, develop their reputation, and make the most of the opportunities available to them.
